My guess is that this from the 1940's or early 1950's. It is handmade and in good condition. Leather is still supple, wood is pretty dry, paper inside is fragile and not ph balanced so should be replaced.
The inscription inside reads:
Merry Christmas 1931 (at least that is what I think it says)
