Vintage Small French Advertising Sign for Champagne Binet of Reims

Description

This sign is an advert for the sparkling wine house “Champagne Binet”. Founded in 1849 in Reims, the capital city of the Champagne region in France, Binet is a small, quality Champagne house which still ranks among the most exclusive brands today. The sign reads “Champagne is the greatest aperitif, the quarter bottle BINET is the greatest Champagne”. Made of heavy duty cardboard (so sturdy that it does not bend), with a protective coating giving the sign a superb glassy effect (a technique known as Glacoid). Most like was stock that was never displayed in a bistro to promote the brand. Dates from the early 1980s, in perfect condition, without any damage, yet has a superb aged look.
Sign can be easily displayed on its own stand/easel or hung on a wall by its small, foldable hook on the backside.
