VINTAGE CHINESE CARVED CINNABAR LACQUER PEONY BUCKLE CLASP BELT FASTENER

Description

A rare and collectible vintage Chinese carved cinnabar lacquer belt fastener.
The cinnabar fronts have been carved delicately in the round to represent peony blossoms.
The lacquer has been applied to a red painted metal belt clasp.
Circa1920’s-30’s
One loop very slightly bent. Some paint loss to back.
Very beautiful piece.
Approximate dimensions: 4.25” wide, 1 7/8" high
Size belt loop: 1.25”
