    Up for auction is a vintage souvenir program book, measuring approximately 9 by 12 inches in size.  The twenty-four page Souvenir Program is for Irving Berlins' "This Is The Army", playing on Broadway, in 1942, with a cast comprised of only United States Army soldiers.  Included among the 300 soldiers listed in the program, are Irving Berlin, Burl Ives and Ezra Stone (who was also the director of the production).  The show was produced by the U. S. Army with the purpose of boosting morale in the States during World War II, with all proceeds going to the benefit of the Army Emergency Relief Fund.  What makes this Souvenir Program Book unusual, is that it is a Printers Proof for the show, as there are numerous notations throughout indicating corrections and changes to be made to the type, print, etc..
    The souvenir program is in great, vintage condition, with no missing or torn pages, and minimal soiling and wear (primarily to the rear cover).
