    Description

    This is an old Firemark issued by the Fire Association Of Philadelphia. While it is not possible to  know the exact age of the mark it does resemble number 88 shown in the book "Footprints Of Assurance and issued in 1863. The author, A.B Bulay, also mentions that each of the volunteer fire companies had their own fireworks struck so there are many differences of the same mark.
    This firework is definitely old and not a reproduction. The mark is about 11 3/4" by 7 1/4". It is relatively thin  and weighs 2 pounds 11 ounces.i
