The Latin quarter nightclub was once on Star island from 1940 till the 1960s in an area where now stands a playground. during the war the nightclub hosted servicemen, tourists, and celebrities like Frank Sinatra, Jerry Lewis, Jack Benny, and Tony Bennett. Lou Walters, father of ABC 2020s Ms Barbara Walters, created the club in Miami Beach after having success with it in Boston and New York. It was inspired by the moulin rouge and it's performers where directed by ballet dancer and madam Natalie Kamarova.
