The Airbus 319 is a member of the Airbus A320 family of short to medium range narrow body airliners. It is a twin engine jet airliner capable of carrying between 124 to 156 passengers at a maximum range of 3,700 miles. The A319 is a shortened fuselage variant of the A320 and entered service in 1996.
U.S. Airways was a major American airline that operated from 1937 until its merger with American Airlines in 2015. It was originally Allegheny Airlines, when in 1979 it changed its name to US Airways. A decade later the airline acquired Piedmont Airlines and Pacific Southwest Airlines.
This U.S. Airways A319-312 with registration N744P had its maiden flight on 12 July 2000. It was delivered to U.S. Airways on 03 August 2000. On 10 December 2013 it was sold to American Airlines where it is still providing passenger service.
