FOSSIL ~ ORTHOCONIC NAUTILOID ~ STRAIGHT CEPHALOPOD ~ EXPOSED LIVING CHAMBER

I have for your bidding consideration a fossil piece that has been in my TN family forever. I did not
know what type it is, and a very kind fellow eBayer gave me the information.  This is an orthoconic nautiloid (straight cephalopod)and it shows its siphuncle (internal tube) along with the living chambers. It is considered quite the rare find.
I have posted several photos so the piece can be viewed at all angles. It is substantial and does display well. It has always been cased with my arrowhead and minnie ball collection.
