Ostby & Barton
was
a very successful jewelry firm in Providence, Rhode Island, founded in 1879. Firms owner Mr.Ostby perished on the Titanic in 1912 at the age of 65. Firms jewelry became
highly sought after by collectors around the world!
This rare cameo is definitely a one of a kind treasure!
Cameo
is
hand carved in more seldom seen left view in high relief
and is depicting a lovely portrait of a young lady wearing pearls around her neck with
delicate face features and curly hair.
Framed in gorgeous sterling silver setting with 4 flower-like prongs and very delicate floral reposee all around it.
Locking c-c
lasp pin on the back finishes the look.
