    Description

This Incredible early piece of New York banking/ insurance history came from the estate of a long time insurance agent who recently passed away.
This is a framed  wooden panel possibly from a wall panel or old business door.   The panel itself is made up of three full size 1x6"s and a fourth 1x6 that's abt 3", making the overall panel,  excluding the frame to be 18 1/2" tall x 22 1/4" wide.
The overall size of the piece, including the frame is 24" x 36" x 3/4"
A little research found that the Imperial Assurance Company of New York to be in existence as early as 1920.  Considering the type of construction of the sign, along with the age and patena of the piece itself I would guesstimate it to be somewhere around that time period.
The lettering has been applied directly to the wood along with some type of semi transparent stain.  In thinking it's a water based stain considering how it sets more on the surface of the wood than a typical Penetrating  stain.  Around the lettering the stain has begun to wear over the years.
I have chosen to do ZERO messing with, or restoration of this sign.   To me,  the beauty lies in its "Original" state.
Please see all pictures to verify condition and ask any questions before purchasing.   I'd be hapy to take additional photos and answer any Questions toy might have about the piece.
