Description:
A nice very fine banknote from Hong Kong. This is The Chartered Bank January 1, 1981 ten dollars currency note. The note was printed by Thomas De La Rue Company Ltd. and is green on multicolored underprint on the front with the image of stylized carp fish to the right. The front also has the denomination spelled out in the center and in numbers in the top left and bottom right corners. The note also has two signatures on the front. The back is green with the image of a building to the left and arms in the center. This particular note has the serial number BU580796 displayed in black twice on the front. The note is dated 1st January 1981. The banknote has a watermark, which displays a helmeted warrior's head along the left edge. Condition:
I would grade this banknote as a nice very fine with all the details being well preserved. It shows several vertical and horizontal folds and creases. The banknote displays some soiling but no objectionable staining. The paper still retains some stiffness. The corners are intact and show some rounding as well as bumps. The edges of the note show some roughness and several nicks at the ends of the folds. The note has no tears, no splits, no graffiti, no pinholes and no large objectionable stains. The note's colors are clear and fairly bright. The corners are intact but have some minor rounding. Be that as it may, the overall appearance of this note is still nice and it would make a great addition to your collection. Please see the scan for additional condition information.
