c.1940s Vintage Metal High Heel Shoe Double Wedding or other Ring Holder Stand

This is cool! I have had shoe-pincushions over my years in the antique biz but I've never seen one that held rings! Approx. 3.5" long, 3.25" high. Heavy, non-magnetic metal, perhaps pot metal with a brass or gold colored plating. Lots of wear to the red velvet part; it's very bald and devoid of plush. Plus scratches and other
wear consistent with age/use. It has a maker's mark in a shield on the bottom, I think it may say W.D. followed by USA. And there is a number 132 there too.  What a fun and unusual jewelry display piece!
