    Description

Silver Peacock pin, magnificent work. Silver.  Not marked but back then the Burmese used 90% to 925% silver.  The pin was replaced over sixty years ago.  My parents were missionaries to Burma 1921-1966 with breaks.  The fact the pin had to be replaces shows it is quite old.  9.3 grams.  Back then skilled workers were working for fifty cents per day!  The last king of Burma before the British conquered it, used the peacock as his symbol which is why he struck peacock rupees.  My father earned ,000 per year.
