Description
This is a very nice old painted tin sign in a wooden frame, very different shape. The sign is for the Hammondsport Wine Company. Hammondsport New York is known for their wineries. Lazarus Hammond founded the village around 1827. The village later became a center for the New York wine industry. We could not find a specific reference to this particular winery but the area in New York became well known for their Champagnes. This sign is painted on tin with a fancy wooden frame, love the triangular shape. The paint has flaked and under close inspection appears worn, when viewed from a short distance the wear is negligible. The frame is sturdy and intact.
The sign is a 32 1/2" x 32 1/2" triangle.
