    Description

    1913 US MINT SHIPPING CRATE FOR BUFFALO NICKELS-DENVER. A shipping crate for Buffalo Nickels! Buffalo Nickel Wood Crate, 15" x 11" x 9.5" Embossed "Property of U.S. Government -- Denver Mint Colorado, 1913. With 8" diameter renderings of the Buffalo on one side and Two Gun White Calf on the other. Integrated groove handles. Box interior bears no coin markings as the coins were bagged then crated. These crates were virtually all destroyed for firewood. Both ends are printed the same -- 1913 PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVERNMENT DENVER MINT COLORADO-- the top reads PROPERTY U.S.GOVERNMENT MINT -- The box is nicely dovetailed and in great shape. After reasearching all I can find is one other crate that sold at an auction house in 2007 for 00!
