1989 Original Pack of 100 Bank of Zambia 5 Kwacha Notes
Offered for your consideration is an original pack of 100 Bank of Zambia 5 Kwacha notes issued in 1989, though the date is not printed on the notes. The front design features a portrait of President K. Karunda at the right, with a fish eagle in flight at the lower left. A multi-colored butterfly appears over the state arms at the center. The back design depicts a large multi-story building at the center, with a representation of the “Chainbreaker” statue to the left. In the lower left corner is a forward facing lion cub, while a native jar appears at the right. The front is printed predominately in brown and reddish-orange, with the aforementioned multi-colored butterfly at the center. The back is printed in a somewhat plainer brown. A watermark at left depicts President K. Karunda. This pack is enclosed in its original band bearing the imprint of “HARRISON & SONS LIMITED” and contains 100 notes between the serial numbers A/C 4013101 and A/C 4013200. Minor curling is noted at the corners of some of the notes, but all are technically uncirculated. A great opportunity to acquire an original pack of these notes, now over 25 years old.
