Description:
A beautiful choice fine or much better banknote from Hong Kong. This is the Government of Hong Kong no date one dollar currency note. The banknote which was issued by the "Government of Hong Kong" and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. has a blue design on green and multicolored background with the image of King George VI to the right of the front and Chinese characters in an oval to the left. The back is blue on white with the denomination in all four corners and Chinese characters in the center. The note has the denomination spelled out in the center of the front and the back. This particular note has the serial number 646271 displayed twice in black on the front and is series E/2. The note has one signature displayed on the front in the center of the bottom. It is undated but known to have been introduced in 1940. The banknote has no watermark that we could find. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Condition:
I would grade this banknote as a choice fine or much better with all the details being well preserved. This is an attractive note with evidence of handling and considerable soiling. The note shows general and extensive wrinkling but is intact with no tears or splits. The coin has no graffiti, no pinholes, and no stains. The note has a number of vertical folds, a horizontal fold, and general wrinkling. The corners show rounding and bumps but are still intact. The colors are muted and somewhat dull but are there and have not been lost. Despite of the issues mentioned above, this is a nice note to add to your collection at a reasonable price.
