    About Hubei Chinese Turquoise:
The best Turquoise mines in China are located in the Hubei region.
For many years there was plentiful mining of turquoise in China. The best is from  Hubei Provence in central China. The quality of some Hubei turquoise rivals that of the best American turquoise and comes in a wide variety of hues. Because of concerns about mining practices the Chinese government halted turquoise mining operations.
Today there are no Chinese mines in operation and the beautiful and once plentiful Hubei turquoise has become extremely scarce and prices have skyrocketed worldwide.  Turquoise has also become increasingly fashionable and collectible in China. Outside of China it is now difficult and expensive to obtain and often limited to vintage collections.
Most turquoise is stabilized in some way with wax or resin and helps with longevity of the beads as you wear them. I'm not a gemologist and I can't speak to how these beads have been treated. They are all vintage older Chinese Turquoise.
I have a large collection of Asian, mostly Chinese beads, jewelry and other antiques that I will be listing in the next few months so please take a look at my other listings and save me to your seller list.
